The British Motorsports Marshals Club (BMMC) is seeking an inspiring and strategic individual to take on the prestigious role of National Chair. About Us: The BMMC is the leading club for motorsport marshals in the UK, representing approximately 2700 dedicated volunteers who play a crucial role in motorsport events nationwide. Our mission is to support, train, and represent marshals, ensuring safety and excellence at every motorsport event. Role Overview: As National Chair, you will be the figurehead of the BMMC, providing strategic leadership and direction to the club. You will work closely with other Directors, National Council , regional chairs, and key external stakeholders to ensure the continued growth and success of the club. This role is vital in shaping the future of marshaling in the UK and enhancing the club’s profile within the motorsport community. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement medium and long-term strategies to promote and support the BMMC and its members.Lead the National Council, ensuring effective governance and decision-making.Representation and Advocacy:Act as the primary spokesperson for the BMMC, representing the club at national events, meetings, and in the media.Advocate for the interests of marshals within the motorsport industry and liaise with key stakeholders, including Motorsport UK, event organizers, and other relevant bodies.Member Engagement:Foster a strong sense of community within the club, engaging with members to understand their needs and enhance their experience.Promote initiatives that support marshal recruitment, training, and retention.What we’re Looking For: Leadership Experience:Proven experience in a leadership or senior management role, preferably within a membership organisation or the motorsport industry.Passion for Motorsport:A deep understanding of and enthusiasm for motorsport, with a particular appreciation for the role of marshals.Excellent Communication Skills:Strong public speaking and media engagement skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.Strategic Thinker:Ability to think medium and long-term and develop strategies that will benefit the BMMC and its members.Commitment to Volunteering:A dedication to supporting and advocating for volunteers, with personal experience as a marshal.Why Join Us? Please send (a) Confirmation that you are eligible under Article 29, including that they are a Full or Life Member, their Grade (being above that of Registered Marshal), and list any other BMMC roles currently held. (b) Confirmation of your understanding that on election to the role, you will take on responsibilities as a company director under the Companies Act 2006 , and their willingness and legal eligibility to do so. (c) A statement of no more than 500 words which will be circulated to the membership, setting out their experience and plans should they be successful in the election supported by a relevant CV.
